What is the purpose of the Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade?
The parade celebrates downtown Dallas and restores a great holiday tradition in North Texas. The family-friendly event begins in the Arts District and concludes at the American Airlines Center. The Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade provides a family-friendly way for North Texans to celebrate the New Year while giving AT&T Cotton Bowl fans a free community event to attend during their stay in the DFW Metroplex.

The Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade begins at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 1, 2010, traveling down Ross, Lamar and Houston Streets, ending at the American Airlines Center.

Country music recording artists Eli Young Band will serve as Grand Marshal of the 2010 Comerica Bank New Year's Parade.
![]() What is the parade theme and beneficiary?
“Celebrate Entertainment!” is the theme for the 2010 Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade, which benefits the Scovell Scholarship Foundation. The foundation provides thousands of dollars in scholarships annually to deserving local students with strong leadership abilities, high moral character, financial need, and a connection to sports.

Yes. Several dozen portable restrooms will be placed along or near the parade route.
