DALLAS, Dec. 29, 2008 — American Airlines Center and the J. Curtis Sanford Parade Committee today announced that the university bands and cheerleaders from Ole Miss and Texas Tech will hold simultaneous pep rallies outside American Airlines Center immediately following the Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 1, 2009.

The Ole Miss Pep Rally will be held in Parking Lot G just east of the American Airlines Center, while the Texas Tech Pep Rally will be held at the AT&T Plaza near the south entrance to American Airlines Center.

The Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade begins at 2:30 p.m. at the corner of Ross and Harwood. The 1.3-mile parade route runs southwest on Ross, northwest on Lamar and then north on Houston, concluding at All-Star Way next to American Airlines Center.

The DART Victory Station will be open on New Year’s Day for fans and spectators attending the parade and pep rallies. DART rail stations near the parade route include:

• St. Paul Street Station
• Akard Street Station
• West End Station
• Victory Station

The J. Curtis Sanford Parade Committee is a 501 (c) (3) organization formed in 2006 to present the family-friendly Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade during AT&T Cotton Bowl Week. Parade proceeds benefit the Field and Mary Scovell Scholarship Foundation. Post-Parade Pep Rallies Jan. 1, 2009
