THE ELI YOUNG BAND TO BE GRAND MARSHAL OF 2010 COMERICA BANK NEW YEAR’S DAY PARADE
Family Event in Downtown Dallas “Celebrates Entertainment” with country music chart-toppers the Eli Young Band ![]() Serving as the Grand Marshal will bring the nationally famous Eli Young Band members close to their hometown of Denton, Texas, this New Year’s Day. The recipient of numerous award nominations and accolades, the band has three songs off its debut album, Jet Black & Jealous, on nationwide radio charts. The songs include: “When It Rains,” “Always The Love Songs” and “Radio Waves.” “We’re all excited about performing at the Comerica Bank New Year’s Day Parade,” the Eli Young Band said. “It is going to be a memorable experience and a great way to kick off 2010.” About the Eli Young Band The Eli Young Band’s national debut album, Jet Black & Jealous, entered the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart at #5, earned the band its first ACM and CMT Award nominations and produced its first Top 10 single on country radio. The band has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Tonight Show, CMT and GAC, and has garnered acclaim in People Magazine, USA Today, Performing Songwriter and Country Weekly. The band is currently touring non-stop, selling out venues across the country. ![]() The Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. The 1.5-mile parade route begins in the Dallas Arts District on Ross Ave. in front of the Dallas Museum of Art and concludes in Victory Park at Houston St. and All-Star Way. An Ole Miss Pep Rally featuring the Ole Miss Marching Band and cheerleaders is scheduled immediately following the parade at the AT&T Plaza, which is located just south of the American Airlines Center. The family parade will feature some 80 entries including high school bands from across the country, more than 20 floats, helium balloons, equestrians, Cotton Bowl dignitaries, the world-famous Kilgore College Rangerettes, and the Ole Miss and Oklahoma State University bands, mascots, and cheerleaders. The Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade will be televised live at 2:30 p.m. on KDFW-TV (FOX 4) in Dallas. The parade and opening ceremonies will be streamed live beginning at 2 p.m. on myfoxdfw.com. A parade rebroadcast is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, on FOX 4. The Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade is presented by the J. Curtis Sanford Parade Committee and benefits the Field and Mary Scovell Scholarship Foundation.
